Hi.
I'm Karen, and this is my site. I'm married to Marcus, and we're parents to a little girl named Alex. I'm glad you're here.
I began writing Chookooloonks in February 2004, while Marcus and I were waiting for Alex to be born. Since then, a lot has changed: she's here and we're officially a family, we moved from Houston, Texas to my native country of Trinidad & Tobago, and I've gone from being a lawyer, to a stay-at-home-mom and freelance writer, to, most recently, an associate producer of online content for a Very, Very Large Corporation, working from home. This blog chronicles it all: it will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it's better than Cats.
Chookooloonks (noun): A Trinidadian term of endearment, used especially when addressing a child.
Of course, feel free comment on anything you see here – provided, of course, you’ve read the Chookooloonks Comments Code, below. Or, if you'd like, send me a personal note at chookooloonks AT gmail DOT com. I do love a good e-mail.
Other than that, welcome, and enjoy the site.
Camera info: The photographs you see on this site were shot with either my Nikon D100 or my Nikon D200, depending on my whim. If you're thinking of buying a camera, you really can't go wrong with either.
Play nice. Otherwise, I might get angry. And you won't like me when I'm angry.
