halloween magic

Saturday night, I went with my friend Trish to the final performance of Halloween Magic, a not-for-profit musical comedy troupe (read:  drag show), which has been a Houston institution.  They've been around since 1988, and over the last twenty years have raised over $1,000,000 for local HIV/AIDS organizations.

I'd certainly heard of Halloween Magic, but this was the first year I attended -- and I have to say, I'm so disappointed that I won't be able to see them perform again.  They were like what would happen if Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and The Beverly Hillbillies had a love child.  They were loud, bawdy, intelligent and hysterically funny, and all for a great cause.  They will be missed.

SongGimme Gimme Gimme (a Man After Midnight) by ABBA.  This is, in fact, the song they were dancing to in the picture above.
