The above image was taken minutes after I'd pulled the apple cinnamon muffins out of the oven.  The house was quiet; Marcus and Alex had left 30 minutes earlier for the airport to pick up his mother, brother and sister-in-law.

I love those still moments when you're waiting for houseguests to arrive.

Yes, deary. And you had those still moments bc you'd prepared the whole week ahead. I used to have those pre-company still moments. But the last two parties I've thrown, like last night, the guests either arrive early or on time and I'm not ready for another 30, frantically preparing., I'm trying to look at this in my life.
