lest you be concerned...

...I thought I'd let you know that ever since the episode which occurred the other night, every time I put Alex to bed -- whether for her nap, or to sleep at night -- she immediately pops up to sitting position, and declares:
"I'm afraid of dinosaurs. Sing me Bob Marley."
It bears noting that while she waits for my response, her expression is not unlike the one you see in this photograph.
So, you know, I think she's fine.

Positive Reinforcement at its best! She knows exactly what to do say doesn't she. The more positive the reinforcement (and who wouldn't think being sung to by your mother isn't the BEST thing ever!!), the more often you can expect the dinosaurs the be lurking under the bed. Get to practicing your scales! You've taught her well!!!

I bet your singing to her will be one of her very favorite memories when she gets older...too sweet..

Karen,
This little beauty of yours seems like a real hoot! I have to tell you that every time I see her face and read your posts my heart just warms. Thanks for that.
Have a wonderful weekend. It's getting cold this part of the world so please enjoy the sun for us.

That girl? Too smart! Somehow though, I don't think you'll mind this task too much. If that face was asking me for Bob Marley, I'd sing it. Hell, if that face was asking me to sing Bob Hope I'd start crooning away!

She has her mommy all figured out! What a cutie! I just had to sing, the *rock n roll* song in a little tykes microphone while my 4 year old son played the piano! It was more energizing than my cup of coffee! A little love every day is wonderful! :-)

She has a smile that could light up the world.

She is way to much fun! I think I was that way when I was little.
I had to sing Sade songs to my oldest son, when he was a baby to get him to go to sleep. To this day he still loves her. The youngest one, I had to drive around the city for 2 or 3 hours to get him to sleep. Those were the days.

My daughter also knows just the right things to say to get me to sing one more bedtime song.

I don't remember how I found your site, but I've been lurking for awhile...and just wanted to come out of lurking to tell you that no matter what happens in my day, your site - the love I 'feel' here - the pictures of you and your daughter's smiles - makes me smile. Thank you. (My song to sing with my grandkids is always something Jimmy Buffett, but my daughter LOVE(d)/(s) Bob Marley!!
