KAREN WALROND IS Author, speaker, photographer & coach.

Karen's bestselling book, The Beauty of Different, is a chronicle of imagery and portraiture, combined with written essays and observations on the concept that what makes us different makes us beautiful -- and may even be the source of our superpowers. It is available from Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Bright Sky Press, and other booksellers around the world.  In addition, her fine art photography pieces and projects have been included in exhibits around the country. She is a contributor to the book Expressive Photography: A Shutter Sisters' Guide to Shooting from the Heart, a guide for beginning and intermediate photographers for adding heart and soul to their imagery.  Karen's writing, images and other projects have been featured on CNN.com, USA Today, Good Housekeeping and Wondertime magazines, among others.  Karen is also the creative mind behind the award-winning website, Chookooloonks, an inspirational source for living with intention, creativity and adventure, and featuring travel, art, food and life.  Her second book, Make Light:  Stories of Bright Sparks, Slow Burns and Thriving Out Loud, will be released November 1, 2017, and is available for preorder now.

A sought-after keynote and TEDx speaker, Karen has spoken around the United States and abroad to individuals and organizations on the topic of thriving, through leadership development, the magic of creativity, the valuing of cultural and racial diversity, and the power of social media. In support of her public speaking and delivery of workshops that include the concepts of courage, worthiness and authenticity (both within the legal field and without), Karen is a Daring Way™ Certified Facilitator, having been trained in Brené Brown's work on vulnerability, courage, shame-resilience and worthiness, as expressed in the books Daring Greatly and Rising Strong.
