I was honoured to speak with the students of Towson University about 10 Lessons I Learned While Writing a Book, and to a creative writing class on The Process of Seeing.

You can read about my experience here.  Thanks so much, Towson!

Way back in 2013, I shared some random thoughts on happiness, gratitude & meaning on the blog. Today, I’m working on putting together a resource to help others intentionally cultivate these things in their life - a practice I myself still participate in. I can’t wait to share it with you! #makelight #happiness #gratitude #meaning #tbt
After I bought this little plant, I walked back over to the art supply store to meet Marcus and Alex. The woman behind the counter saw me. “Oh, you got a plant!” she grinned. “It’s so cute!” “I did,” I smiled back. “It needs a name, though.” “Hmmm.” She thought for a few seconds. “Only two names are coming to mind. ‘Fred’ and ‘Aardvark.’” And that’s how I ended up with a houseplant named Freddie Aardvark. (An aside: I picked this plant out of the indoor plant section, and while it had care instructions, it didn’t have the real name of the plant, nor how tall it might grow. Anyone recognize Freddie Aardvark here, who can tell me more about her?) 🌱🌿
Alex, singing @backstreetboys for Valentine’s Day. Because she wants it that way.
