Okay, I’mma need an explanation: why didn’t one of you iPhone users tell me to upgrade from my 6s MONTHS ago?? Because the camera on this 8 ain’t. no. joke!

Spent time thinking about how we’re choosing what we buy for our home to replace what we lost. I’m realizing that I’m more concerned about conveying what our family values, than what’s “on trend.” Is that odd, or do you do that too? (More thoughts on the blog.)

NEW HAIR, WHO DIS?

This morning I woke up completely fed up with my hair, and was THISCLOSE to cutting it all off. But then, after talking to my friend @addyeb_art, it dawned on me that I hadn’t had it professionally cut and trimmed in 4-1/2 years, since I started growing it out. So instead, I called my stylist of 27 years (you read that correctly) and told her I was coming in. The relief in her voice was palpable.

After confirming that my hair was healthy (“Any healthier, it’d be comin’ out your ass,” she said - you see why I love her), I let her go to town, shaping it like it oh-so-needed to be shaped. She didn’t cut much length, but she cut out a ton of weight, and my head feels so much LIGHTER. Also, my curls are poppin’ again.

So, to my naturally curly sisters here in Houston, if you’re looking for a great stylist, check out Berni at Visible Changes in Memorial City Mall. Tell her Karen sent ya. ✂️
