"'Better' is good. I will take 'better' every time." ~ @barackobama at today's global health event, hosted by the @gatesfoundation. These words feel like my mantra these days (and I shared my thoughts about why on the blog).

Had an epic, running-errands-in-a-rainstorm-getting-soaked-to-the-skin-induced meltdown yesterday -- my first since being displaced by the flood. It was a wake-up call at how much stress I'm under -- and how I've been putting self-care on the back-burner.

So I'm off to do 3 miles, the first real exercise I've had in a month. Time to form good habits again (and explore our new neighbourhood, since we'll be here for a while, while we rebuild.) Happy Tuesday, friends.

Heading to church for the first time since the storm. Since I have very little clothing left after the floods, I'm forced to be creative in mixing and matching my remaining things - and to be honest, I'm sort of enjoying the process. (And after watching the amazing @esperanzaspalding create on the fly last week, I'm using her as my muse.) #whatwouldesperanzado #nomoreurbanpajamas #allaboutfloodchic

The front of our house today ... which you can't actually see, due to the mountain of trashed belongings sitting in our front yard waiting to be hauled away. Today is a saving and discarding day.
