For the first Saturday in I-don’t-know-how-long, I’m not doing any work. I got out of bed at 11, I went to the garden centre and bought some plants for my patio, and now I’m sitting outside with an ice cold drink, finishing up one book and starting this one. I may have to start a tradition with this no-work-Saturday thing ... ✨🌱📚
Beautiful morning out on the trail this morning. For the last couple of weeks, every morning when we wake up, Marcus asks me, “How are you feeling this morning?” And I respond, “I need a break.” It’s been almost a year since the three of us took time off just to be with each other, and I’m starting to feel it. So the last few weeks I’ve been trying to do whatever I can to slow down a bit during my days — a nap here, a walk in the park there. But I’m looking forward to having some focused family time. Alex’s last day of school is next week. She has a packed summer, but we’re hoping to squeeze in some down time in there. Because I deeply believe that scheduling down time is how you show up fully at work.
