In February 2010, I decided to put together a life list: 100 things I want to do before I go. Number 16 on the list is "photograph 1000 faces." Here's where I'm keeping track.

In February 2010, I decided to put together a life list: 100 things I want to do before I go. Number 67 on the list is "take a hot air balloon ride." On June 25, 2010, in Park City, Utah, I finally screwed up the courage to make it happen. Here's how it went down.

In February 2010, I decided to put together a life list: 100 things I want to do before I go. Number 64 on the list is "grow a flower from a seed" - because historically, I'm a rampant plant-killer. Here's the evidence that this might all be behind me.

If this all works, the resulting flowers will be foxgloves and zinnias.

Update: As you can see, the zinnias worked a treat. The foxgloves ... not so much.

In December 2009, I decided to begin a portrait study of very close family and friends, to see if I could recreate the feel of vintage photographs. I shot the images "through-the-viewfinder" with a Kodak Duaflex, and had my subjects pose without smiling (which wasn't always successful). The resulting images were processed to a sepia tone.
