« through the viewfinder monday: more purple flowers »

Monday morning, and the start of an intense week at work.  Here's wishing all of us a good, productive week.

Song:  Had a bad day, by Daniel Powter.  I've wanted to feature this song for a while because I love it, but the lyrics aren't particularly happy, so I haven't.  Yesterday, however, I found the music video for this song on YouTube, and I love the message of hope it sends, because it's exactly how I think the song feels, despite its lyrics.  Plus, again, it sort of mirrors my vibe these days.  Enjoy.

I love that "Bad Day" is your song for the day--that song represents so much to me. When it was at its most popular, my mother was in the hospital (she never got better, in the end) and my sister and I would make the commute every other day to visit her. We would blast "Bad Day" and sing to it at the top of our lungs. It was carthartic. So here's to optimism in the face of trying times!

well yes I have heard that song over and over on the radio ...thanks for the video that did make it more hopeful

the quote I posted on my blog just this morning fits:
"Don't ask yourself what the world needs;
ask yourself what makes you come alive.
And then go and do that.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
Howard Thurman
