through the viewfinder: sunday blossom (and a few random thoughts)
Have you ever had a series of weeks where you feel like you've gotten a ton of stuff done, but none of it has anything to do with anything that you had on your to-do list? That's what the last couple of weeks have been like for me. I'm hoping that this week, I actually get to cross things off my list. Hell, I hope I actually get to take the time to make a list.
A couple of random musings from the weekend:
1. I cut all of my hair off. I think I'm just one of those women who doesn't like hair. I was walking around with this shock of hair that I didn't know what to do with, and I hated going to bed at night with my hair making my neck hot, and waking up with hair that would scare small children. So I cut it all off. And I think I lost 5 pounds as a result. (Said result can be seen here, courtesy of my webcam).
2. I recently found out that high fructose corn syrup contains mercury -- and EVERYTHING, it seems, contains high fructose corn syrup. As a result, Marcus and I have been combing through our pantry. I mean, we eat relatively healthily -- we never drink carbonated beverages, and we even buy some organic foods, like milk, eggs and other staples -- but dude, I have to tell you, that barbecue sauce that I love and that ketchup that Alex loves? Is starting to look like liquid poison. So we're going to start being ever-vigilant, and reading our labels a bit closer. Also: I don't eat meat, but I do eat seafood -- and lately, I've sort of been toying with the idea of going vegetarian (although not vegan. I might be able to give up seafood, but give up a good stinky blue cheese? Not very likely, sporty). I don't know. Perhaps it's just a whim.
3. I'm starting to get nervous/excited about both my gallery opening and my participation in the Mom 2.0 Summit (both at which I hope to meet many of you in person!). February's looking rather exciting for me. Hopefully for you, too?
