How do you talk to your kids about molestation? -- I had a long talk with Alex this morning, because of this video.

Are you a bargain shopper? -- I'm not. But I hate shopping, so it's rare that I shop anyway.

Are you okay with pulling your kids out of school? -- For us, it's a case-by-case kinda thing.

« love thursday: right back »

In our neighbour's garden.  I love how the petals look like mini hearts.  Photographed with Nikon D300, 60mm micro lens.

"Mom?"

"Yup?"

"I'm going to miss you."

"Am I going somewhere?"

"No, when I grow up.  I'm going to have to move away.  And I'm going to miss you."

"Well, you don't have to move away.  But you're probably going to want to."

"I am?"

"Well, yes.  You might decide you want to travel and see the whole world, and live in some faraway place.  Or maybe you'll meet someone you want to spend the rest of your life with.  And then you'll go make your own home with them.  But either way, it's okay, you know.  Because if you ever need me, you just call me, and I'll be right there."

"But I'll probably move away?"

"Yes, you'll probably move away."

"Mom, you can come live with me if you want to."

"Well, thanks, sweetie.  We'll see how you feel when the time comes.  And if you still feel the same way, I'll happily come live with you."

"I love you, Mom."

"And I love you right back, kid."

"I love you right back, too."

Happy Love Thursday, all. Please leave your words or links to your images and thoughts of love in the comments below.

And here's to loving someone right back.

SongBlackbird, as performed by Dionne FarrisAnd trust me, if you like this version of the song, you must buy the album.  It's discontinued, and it's cheap and it's worth every song.

Part of the cycle I have trouble with, when I’m feeling wretched, is that it’s pretty rare for me to lose sight of the fact that I’m being ridiculous. I mean, I feel crappy. I don’t like feeling crappy. But I have a roof over m...

That is so sweet! You know, my daughter just said to me a couple of days that I'm GOING to come live with her in her own house. I said, OK.. (smile). It is so important that we show our daughters how to accept what is and to love ourselves because of nothing in particular, just because we are life. I'm referring to You - the woman... Take a look..

I can imagine this sweet baby having a similar conversation with its mother. And now - he/she is grown and gone..and probably having babes of its own this season:

That's a beautiful conversation. I had to dig a little further back this week to remember love...

Oh! I am dying from the sweetness. My youngest who is roughly the same age as Alex has told me the same thing--in fact, she told me when she gets married, I can drive her to the wedding and then drive her back to our house. When I asked her what her groom would be doing, she told me HIS mommy would be driving him to HIS house. Well, duh!!

My contribution is about surprises.

Happy Love Thursday!
