« dew »

Sunday morning dew.  Photographed with Nikon D300, 60mm macro lens.

I remember when I was a kid, I loved reading stories or poems that mentioned the morning dew.  Dew just seemed somewhat magical -- appearing out of nowhere -- making the world seem all new and fresh again.  It's like nature's little reminder that regardless of what happened the day before, today, this day, is just sitting here waiting to be whatever we make of it.

Busy week this week, before a quick getaway this weekend.  I'm off to make it a good one.

This reminds me of Anne Shirley saying, "Isn't it wonderful that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?"

Fresh and new. Just like the dew.

i love this. as a kid, i remember imagining that my entire known world and reality existed in one giant drop of dew. made life feel manageable and the big picture feel mysterious.

This is probably one of my most favorite shots I've seen you take! I absolutely love it!

This is such a beautiful way to approach the day. I've only recently discovered your site, but you have a way of reminding me of the important stuff, in a quick and insightful sentence or two. Thank you for that. Happy travels next week.

I remember sitting on the beach with a friend. We were on the bank just below where the grass stopped growing. He and I stayed up all night talking and watching the dew form on the grass. It was at that time that I learned the importance of being present in the moment.

Beautiful Picture

Peaceful, resting so inconceivably, yet in transition. Profound creation.
Love it too.

dew is also one of my absolute favourite things... makes me want to be a morning person whenever i am up early enough to catch it.
here on my little tropical rock, as prob also in trini, people always talk about the dew 'falling'... mind you catch cold etc... always found this so funny and sweet... actually now that i think about it there all kinds of island 'dew-isms'... danticat's dewbreaker etc... hmmm.... beautiful shot... beautiful blog... thank you!
