« love thursday: if this isn't love, then i truly do not know what is »

You might remember that around this time last year, we took Alex to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to see the Jonas Brothers for her birthday.

Dear God in heaven, this past weekend we did it again.

You have to understand:  we didn't intend to do it again.  But there was a certain confluence of circumstances -- a promise of a Disneyworld trip that fell through, tickets to the concert that were made available to us at a ridiculously low price -- that made it plum near impossible for us not to take her to the concert.  And when she found out that Demi Lovato was the opening act, that did it: she flat out lost her mind.

I have to admit, sitting in that darkened arena watching her enthralled and excited with the performance was pretty awesome.  I mean, really, don't we parents live for the happiness and elation of our kids?

Just please, Lord, don't let me ever have to do this again.

Ever.

(Happy Love Thursday, everyone.)

Song:  My favorite things, as performed by Pomplamoose.  My heavens, I love this duo.

I took my 3 year old to see Peppa Pig (huge in the UK) and she still talks about it. I think she will never stop talking about it.

Those pics are awesome! It's so rare that we can catch that first flash of joy and elation...or maybe she was THAT HAPPY! during the entire concert. :-) Gosh, those are the moments parents live for. (Well, maybe that and some other stuff, too.)

Thanks for the reminder that there are good time, there are great times, and then there are the times that blow the doors off the place.

Happy Love Thursday!

I don't know. I still get all gushy and squeely at concerts. I love that she's so thrilled with it all. It's infectious.

Karen, we took my daughter Sofia and her cousins to the concert as well and I feel exactly like you do. But boy do I have a story for you! Right as we were walking into the rodeo, I hear a couple of girls scream and when we turned around there they were, The Jonas Brothers and Demi getting out of a car in order to greet fans and sign autographs. Like right there next of us. What came next was a total and complete chaos in which we ran to them and the girls went WILD! They got to touch them and take pictures with them (my oldest niece, who is 11, is actually locked arm in arm with the youngest Jonas in one of the pictures!), my other niece got her arm signed (and she swore to never ever wash it again) and in the picture with Demi Lovato Sofia's face is PRICELESS, she was SO SO thrilled. That moment alone my friend was worth the price of admission. It made me over the moon happy for them to have had that experience. Such a crazy lovely moment. We really lucked out.

And Pomplamoose is the very best thing since sliced bread. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Have you heard their cover of La Vie In Rose? My baby is obsessed with it. True story!
