« friday chookooloonks life list update: number 16, photograph 1000 faces (the sxsw edition) »

Catherine.

So here's the thing:  when you know you're going to be attending a conference with thousands of people, and you have "photograph 1000 faces" on your life list, it seems obvious that you must bring your favourite lens* in the hope that you will capture some of the great faces that are bound to be in attendance.

And so I did.  Here are some of my favourites (click on their names to see their sites).

Maya.

Kristin.

 Guy.

Amber.

Chris.

Jeannine.

Thanks to all of the beautiful, different faces I saw in Austin who allowed me to capture them on "film."

And on that note, have a great weekend, everyone.

* my manual 50mm f1.4.  Although, some of these were taken at the Kirtsy party, and there I shot with my 70-200mm -- great for taking nice tight shots across crowded spaces.

Karen, I love the way your subjects fill the frame and you seem to capture the essence of the people you photograph. I hope the portraits I take for my life list are a fraction as beautiful. Ummm, speaking of, I should probably start taking those...lol

Your portraits are simply wonderful. I love the life you bring to them. I have recently stumbled onto your website and blog and LOVE your stuff. Being a budding photographer myself, I was curious as to what your favorite lens is that you referenced above? Look forward to seeing more of your work.

I've have said this before you capture the souls of everyone you photograph.

These portraits are beautiful. You really captured each person's spirit, if that makes any sense.

The eyes. How do you capture those eyes? Gorgeous. Again, in awe of your portraiture skills. In A-W-E.
