I began writing The Beauty of Different almost exactly one year ago. It's been a year of interviews, photo shoots, late-night writing sessions, reading, re-reading, editing and re-editing paragraphs and images. There have been moments where inspiration came easy, and other times when I've struggled to find the right words. But now, after all this time, I am thrilled -- THRILLED, I tell you! -- to announce:
The Beauty of Different is now available for pre-order.

I'm really just beyond excited about this. I'm also slightly stunned: though I've been working diligently toward this goal for a while, actually seeing the book on my publisher's site makes it feel like it's actually going to happen. I can't imagine what my emotions are going to be when I finally have the finished product in my hot little hands. I'm not sure, but I suspect spontaneous combustion isn't entirely out of the question.
Anyway, although many of you have been visiting Chookooloonks for a while and know all about the book, to explain it a bit further, I've put together a short trailer (to watch and embed in your own blogs and/or Facebook pages with abandon, if you're so moved):

Wanted you to know there's a glitch in the prices. When you arrive at Bright Sky Press $24.95 for hardcover. Then when you order turns to $17.46 but I think that's the paperback price as in Amazon? I'll wait to see what arrives from Bright Sky, but I thought there was a discrepancy.
