a rebellious little list of good things

Yes, I know it’s February — but it’s honestly taken me this long to feel like I’m finally getting in the groove of my weeks. Just me? This week it finally feels like routines have settled into something that feels organic, and I’m feeling very grateful for that. Marcus and I are going out to celebrate a small personal win tonight, and I’m grateful for that, too. And of course, it’s Friday. Good week all round!

And to help make your week end joyfully too, here are a few lovely links:

Have you begun watching The 1619 Project on Hulu yet? Oh, but you must. Chock-full of historical facts, combined with really interesting interviews of amazing folks, you’ll learn things you’ll be surprised you didn’t already know. Trust.

Trinidadian Anthony Joseph has won the T.S. Eliot Prize for poetry. Trini boy come good!

• Bobby McFerrin has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award. Folks, I love Bobby McFerrin. And here’s my favourite video of his genius.

Speaking of beautiful music, my friend A’Driane introduced me to Allison Russell this week. Good Lord, that’s some talent.

Loved this interview about a Prison Art Community whose annual exhibit supports over 700 incarcerated artists.

Have a wonderful weekend, friends.
