on peace and wishes

Michael:  "I never expected my wish to come true."

The Trout:  "Great Oceans! Why bother to wish it, then? I call that simply a waste of time.”

This morning, I woke up — without the alarm clock — and Alex slept in, in her first day off from school for the holiday. It’s cold and rainy here in Houston, which made it the perfect day to get a lot of behind-the-scenes work done. Today was all about buckling down with hot tea and good music, planning the year ahead, and creating good things.

And speaking of good things, you really want to be a part of the Make Light Community by joining my email list. Because …

my journaling course for the beginning of the year is returning!

Years ago, I created an online journaling course, specifically for the purpose of creating a practice of introspection and setting intentions for the new year. It’s been 5 years since my last course like this, but I’m re-launching it, better than ever: it includes video resources and musical inspiration and so much more. During this 15-day experience, you’ll receive exercises and prompts helping you to reflect on 2018, dream about what you want 2019 to look like, and make a plan to set those dreams into motion. And the best part is that you can participate from wherever in the world you are -- it's all self-paced, straight to your email inbox. But you want to be on the email list when this goes livebecause email subscribers are going to get the best deal I’ll be offering on the course. Click here to join the community.

(In personal news, I stopped by our house today, and while it’s not finished, I would call its current state “perfectly livable.” Our contractor is telling us we should get our keys sometime next week. Join me in wishing that he’s right, wouldja?)
