this was a good week

This was a good week! Here’s why:

• I had dinner with a dear friend and mentor this week, and today I’m headed back to Houston after my whirlwind trip to Austin, just in time for my sweet friend Alice Bradley to arrive for an impromptu girls’ weekend! So excited.

This artist dad creates professional illustrations based on his young son’s drawings, and I’m totally here for it.

• In 2016, Hannah Gavios fell 150 feet from a cliff trying to flee from an attacker. This week, she crossed the finish line at the New York City Marathon … for the second time.

This chain reaction machine made from cardboard, paper, and a bunch of things that apparently this kid had lying around the house is incredible.

This teacher used Lizzo’s Truth Hurts to inspire her second graders, and Lizzo approved. Adorable.

• And finally, for today’s soundtrack, Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better) as performed by Felix Jaehn, featuring Jasmine Thompson. While certainly not the classic of the Chaka Khan version, this song nonetheless may or may not have been cranked loudly on repeat on my car stereo during yesterday’s hair-raising drive.

More tomorrow, friends.
