back to mine

I'm not going to lie: I was dreading waking up yesterday.  For the past two weeks, I had completely drifted from my regular routine:  since Alex was off of school, there was no reason for us to set alarms in the morning, so while Marcus went to work, we slept on.  Even better:  if Alex woke up before me, she would simply wander into my room, crawl into my bed and go back to sleep.

We were very lazy.  It was delicious.

But yesterday, Alex returned to school, which meant it was time for me to return to my routine.  And as expected, my alarm clock rang way too early, and neither Alex nor I were in the mood to wake in the chilly morning.

But we finally did.  And managed to get to school in time (early, in fact).

And I got a surprising amount of work done.  And Alex had a stellar first day back at school.  And Marcus even received his service award at his job.

All-in-all, a great official start to 2012.  Here's hoping you're easing comfortably back into your routines as well.
