this was a good week

This was a good week! Here’s why:

• Today is Marcus’ and my 17th anniversary! Also, our family is leaving tomorrow for a week away, and yesterday, I got the opportunity to photograph my dear friend Sarah Condon, who is a priest in the Episcopal Church (outtakes of which are in this post). I was raised Catholic, so women priests are still a wondrous and amazing thing to me. It was a great week.

Fireflies that flash in unison. Amazing.

This optical illusion is doing my head in.

Andrea's great advice for when things get overwhelming.

I came across this lovely story about a mother and son sharing secrets they’d kept from each other. Really beautiful.

• And finally, for today’s soundtrack, something a little different: my friend, travel photographer Lola Akinmade Åkerström (whose work I’ve featured many times here on This Was A Good Week) did a really lovely video for Intrepid Travel. I love her thoughts, and I love that she gives me something to keep in mind as I embark on my own travel this summer. Click here or on the image below to watch and listen.

Have a great weekend, friends. See you next week.
