this was a good week

This was a good week! Here’s why:

• This artist paints self-portraits every year for her birthday. They’re just stunning.

• A guide to joyful gift-giving. Some good tips here.

• I can’t remember if I’ve shared this artist’s amazing quilts with you before, but they are breathtaking.

• These hand-stitched photographs of Germany depicting the Berlin wall are so thought-provoking. I love art that sticks in my head, man.

• My friend Andrea spent the last year sharing daily lists on her blog. Here’s what she learned.

• And finally for today’s soundtrack: Nice to me ya by Nialle Horan. The song is fine, but mostly the video felt like a love letter to London (and looks like it was shot exact where we stayed when we were there this summer) — man, I miss that city.
