« houston, we have lift-off: the kirtsy book launch (and a giveaway!) »

The scene.

Last night, I attended the Kirtsy book launch.  It was pretty fabulous:  Laura Mayes (my good friend, who also happens to be one of the founders of Kirtsy, and is the book's editor) was there, along with several other women who contributed to the book.  The event was held at the beautiful loft space of Bubblegum Tree Photography, and was full of great food and great cheer.

Laura Mayes and designer Kris Kleis, who did the layout of the book.

The best part of the night was, of course, getting to finally see the Kirtsy book, which is beautiful.  It's filled with images and essays and blog posts and tweets from some of the most intelligent, funniest and insightful people on the web.  I can't wait to really dig into its pages.

This space was so very, very awesome.

So another cool thing:  since, this is a beautiful book that you or any woman in your life would be thrilled to receive for the holidays (hint, hint), I also managed to score a copy of the book (signed by both Laura and me) to give away!  All you need to do is leave a comment before midnight tonight (saying anything you like), and I'll pick one person at random to receive the book.

Good luck!  And for those of you who came out to the launch, thanks so much.  It was lovely seeing you.

Say anything I like? I love you dearly and I love Kirtsy as well. I met Laura in Chicago this summer and loved her aura of grace and style. I'd love this, for a myriad of reasons.

Oh, that looks so lovely (both the book and the evening). What a treat it would be to have that book. I'm not even sure we can get it in Canada (yet).
