« nablopomo »

A corner of my studio, photographed this afternoon.  Nikon D300, 50mm lens.

I have been informed by many of the blogs I read that yesterday was the first day of NaBloPoMo -- That's "National Blog Posting Month," for those of you who might be unaware, where participants are challenged to post on their blogs every day for a month.

That's a lot of posting, peeps.

While I participated in this a few years ago, I've taken a break in recent times, because, I smugly thought to myself, I post pretty much 5 days a week as it is.  Why should I push myself to do two more?

Because, I thought back to myself this year, I can.

Sometimes I annoy myself just by thinking.  Do you ever do that?

Anyway, I've decided that I'm going to go ahead and post every day this month.  This means that for every day during the month of November, there will be a new image and some accompanying words, along with a song of the day, including weekends, including holidays.  This also necessarily means that you will likely be subjected to stream-of-consciousness thoughts, possible repeat music, and lots and lots of photographs of various nooks and crannies in my house.  God help you.

If you'd like to help streamline my ramblings a bit, as always, feel free to ask questions in the comments, and I'll try to answer them as best I can as I go along.

And with that, tally-ho, the fox.

shhhhh... I'm giving it a whirl, too. Seems to me that NaBloPoMo is a lot like journaling. (I've always kept a work journal, much like the journals you described in recent months.) But I'm now keeping a personal journal: even it's a shopping list, or a phone number...put it in the journal with the writing snippets, magazine clippings, doodles, and big ideas. For me, NaBloPoMo is just a digital version of that.

I hope that you get something wonderful from the month, whether it's something to plan to achieve or something that happens by happy accident.

I just blogged about not doing this
http://www.elephantsoap.com/2009/11/02/this-whole-nano-be-bop-de-bloop-thing/

But I'm supporting those that are! You are way crazier/cooler/talented/driven then I.

Wow, I better get up on my blog.

I found your blog on NaBloPoMo's blogroll under Photography. I like your 2010 calendar! All the best with this endeavor. First time for me.

You are right--you do post nearly every day anyway! But I feel you. I'm doing nablopomo as well, and already feeling the writer's block. Bring it on!

that's funny. I had the same thought: "but I like my weekends off!" well, maybe next year. :)
