How do you talk to your kids about molestation? -- I had a long talk with Alex this morning, because of this video.

Are you a bargain shopper? -- I'm not. But I hate shopping, so it's rare that I shop anyway.

Are you okay with pulling your kids out of school? -- For us, it's a case-by-case kinda thing.

« view 17: the calm before »

I met my friend for a coffee yesterday.  "I love this time of year," she said.

"I know.  I especially love RIGHT NOW -- you know, when there are just a few days left before Christmas, and most of the shopping and preparations are done, and things suddenly seem to get still and quiet with ... waiting.  I mean, yes, there's some last minute stuff, but school's out, and the tree's up, everything's all decorated and there's just this sort of expectation in the air ..."

"Exactly.  And I'm so glad Christmas in on Friday this year, too.  It's like a whole week of anticipation."

December views.

suchhh beautiful photos. i see an anthropologie box in that first one! ;) ahhh you've gotta love that store. anyways. i totally agree. last week was a blur of getting everything ready, traveling, settling in with my family and catching up. and now...it's just days of relaxing, gazing at the tree, wondering what's under it (yes, i'm nearly 25 and i still get excited to open presents with my family: none of us "kids" have kids of our own yet...so we still get to be the only "kids" for a little while longer) and just drinking coffee and tea and hot chocolate while watching movies. anyway. thank you for your portrayal of this sweet time of year...

We tend to keep things simple and only worry about present for the nieces and nephews. Christmas has been so much easier since we started this. It's no longer about figuring out what to buy for whom, but just being together and enjoying the peace. Have a wonderfully peaceful day.

I love these last few days, too. Enjoy them.

Everything about all of these pictures just makes me feel like I want to settle in and be cozy. Love it!

Yes. Yes! It is like this! But society-media would have us believe otherwise. It's like that...if you chose to BUY into it....Lovely. As usual.

my christmas tree is not up yet or bought for that matter, my presents are not all wrapped yet or even bought yet, my town is full of piles of white fluffy snow and even so I can't stop singing along with the radio's holy night, silent night.... happy peace to all out there who follow this great inspirational blog.
