back in the friendly skies

(Weird admission: whenever I take a photograph out of an airplane window like the one above, I have a fleeting irrational thought:  wouldn't it be cool if an alien spacecraft photobombed my shot right as I squeezed the shutter?

No such luck. Yet.)

As I type/publish this, I'm back in a plane, winging my way to the east coast for a talk I'm giving to a women's executive leadership and networking group in Maine tomorrow.   (Another aside: being able to access in-flight internet will never not be cool to me. We live in marvelous times.)  Not only am I looking forward to the talk, but if memory serves, I don't think I've ever been to Maine before, and I can't wait to see it.

I'm picturing lighthouses. And lobster.

The pilot just came in the PA system and announced we've just reached our cruising altitude of 37,000 feet, so for now, I'm going to take his advice and just sit back and enjoy the ride. For those of you enjoying a long weekend this weekend, I hope you have a wonderful, restful one.

Still nothing. Damn.

Still nothing. Damn.

See you soon, friends.
