that someone else was just on oprah

Okay, about my cryptic post earlier this morning: let's recap the past week, shall we? The following is the concrete evidence that I'm living Someone Else's life:

Saturday, about 10 days ago, I threw a birthday party for Alex.

That evening, I attended a wedding.

The following Monday, I found out my grandmother had passed away.

Last Thursday, I boarded a plane to Trinidad.

Saturday, I returned.

Sunday, God help me, I took my kid to see the Jonas Brothers.

And today?  Today, my children?

Today I was on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

So yeah, the past week has been surreal.  This morning, via Skype, I joined Heather Armstrong, Mindy Roberts, Daphne Brogdon and others on The Oprah Winfrey Show, to discuss "the sisterhood of motherhood."  We discussed disciplining our kids.  We talked about creative ways to be comfortable on long road trips when our children are fast asleep.  We even talked about poop.  If it was even tangentially related to parenting, we talked about it.

The experience was great -- Oprah was as engaging as ever, the audience members were funny, the guests informative.  I must admit, however, that I'm still feeling a bit dazed by the experience:  I mean, really: did this just happen to me?

Couldn't have. Must have been Someone Else.

And now, back to my regularly scheduled life.

(The episode should air sometime within the next couple of weeks. I'll be sure to let you know when I know what date.)

Update: Thank you for all your lovely words, everyone!
