revolutionary love

Valarie Kaur is a lawyer, an activist and a filmmaker, and if you've been following me on Facebook, you know that I'm a huge fan of her work.  She is a passionate storyteller, and her concept of revolutionary love mirrors my thoughts on what it means to make light -- that in the face of discrimination and racism and hatred, we are called to lead with love, lest we spiral into the same behaviour that we condemn.  In her latest TED talk, she shares her three lessons of what revolutionary love means, and ... spoiler alert ... it's not the rush of emotion that we feel when our partner walks in the room.

Her talk is long, by TED talk standards, but it's so worth it -- it's powerful, and inspirational, and even transcendent.  So grab your favourite beverage and a box of tissues, and settle in for the next 25 minutes and listen.
