« love thursday: dip di-dip di-dip doo-bop a doo-bee doo »

Do not ask why, but I was sitting here thinking about that movie, Forrest Gump -- as you do -- and I remembered that one line where Forrest was thinking about his friendship with Jenny:

"Me and Jenny goes together like peas and carrots."

And then I started thinking about relationships in my life, past and present, where we were inseparable -- with Marcus, certainly, but also with Alex, and platonic friendships as well -- where we went together like ...

... cookies and cream ...

... a campfire and marshmallows ...

... jeans and a t-shirt ...

... popcorn and parmesan (dude, don't knock it 'til you try it) ...

... hand and glove ...

... beaches and coconuts ...

... linen and sandals ...

... sunshine and sea breeze ...

... crisp weather and hot chocolate...

... rama lama lama ke ding a de dinga a dong ...

... you get the idea.

Love those relationships.

Happy Love Thursday, everyone.  Feel free to leave your stories or links to your words or images of love in the comments below.  Or, in the alternative, think of a great relationship in your life, and tell me what you go together like.

Because I really think your comment and this post will go together like whipped cream and strawberries.

I am loving what the blog Tomato Nation is accomplishing during the October Social Media Challenge at Donors Choose. Her readership is fiercely loyal, and in 28 days has managed to raise $271,079 to fund projects for public school kids. These projects range from the grand (documentary equipment) to the heartbreakingly basic--one teacher just wanted 200 new pencils to get her class through the school year. It's so hard out there that teachers have to submit grant requests for pencils. But the Tomato Nation readership has blown the doors off the challenge and provided needed materials to over 40,000 kids in just four weeks. It gives me hope. Over the last four years her readership has raised over half a million so kids can have fun and get supplies. How cool is that?

If the TN readership can raise $280,000 by 5pm EST on Saturday, a mystery donor will contribute the remaining 20K to get to 300,000. Here is the link to the project page:

It's a mighty, mighty thing Sarah Bunting has organized. Much love to her, her readers, and the kids.

How about when you're with girlfriends and it's like chocolate, graham cracker, marshmallows, and a toasty fire? Mmmm in so many ways.

When my husband and I first started really crushing one each other and knew what we had was going somewhere, he said "We go together like peas and carrots."

Thanks for bringing that memory back. Hook, Line, and "sink her"! haha!!
