« the end of november »

Today, my in-laws return to England. We had a good, meaningful time together -- they got to see the sights and I think a fun time was had by all. When they return home, they may say many things to describe their visit with us, but I feel confident that they won't say that we didn't feed them, drench them in rum punch, or smother them in LEGO.
Today's also the last day of NaBloPoMo, and I must admit that I didn't think that I'd be able to post every day, particularly considering that the holidays and their visit was during this time. But I did. And I'm proud.
And now, I will take a break. I'll be back on Wednesday, but I'm going to spend today and tomorrow catching up on some work, and generally settling back into a routine. Thanks so much for those of you who stuck with me over the last month.
Can you believe it's December already?
P.S. Don't forget -- today's the deadline to get all your photographs mailed for the First Annual Chookooloonks Photo Drive! I'm loving all the ones I've received already, thank you. And if you're worried that you're overseas and it's too late to mail, don't be -- I set this November 30th date with you in mind. Just please get them in the mail today!

Mmmm, rum punch sounds like a great idea for my upcoming Christmas party. What's your favorite recipe?
P.S. Congrats on the NaBloPoMo. I was here, reading every day!
A month's gone already?! Karen, I hope you take this challenge again soon, you really made my days with your posts. thank you.
Thank you for this photo which gifts me, today, a much needed visual deep breath and charms & mezmorizes me as if it fall into it. Congrats on making it through NaBloMoPo. I feel not a twinge of guilt about not participating. Over the edge it would have sent me. While it's a good discipline for any of us bloggers, I think that's just the point. It's encouraging those who don't post regularly to get with it and on a routine. Not to sound smug here, I don't think that applies to either of us. And then, in the end, I applaud those who do not feel they need to conform and post when they want to, as well. Just look at Megan at Velveteen Mind. She's erratic as hell but is absolutely fabulous when she does post and her readers forgive her artist-creative-mothering lapses. She still manages success and a following. Namaste,
be sure to spoil yourself during your break...don't work too hard. i am happy that you had a good family visit. have a great monday and tuesday!
Congratulations! I think you deserve more rum punch
I was planning on getting some pictures sent in the mail by today with my step-daughter... but, alas, her Thanksgiving visit was so perfect and wonderful that I failed to do anything but soak up her presence! But, I'm writing this because I wanted to let you know that me and my family will be spreading your beautiful idea this Christmas. My mom and dad, sisters and brother and their families, my family, aunts and cousins, will be sending out pictures to children's hospitals with your inspiration. Thank you for giving us a way to celebrate this Christmas. Since my sister's passing we've been volunteering on Christmas to try to fill the hole she left. I think this will be perfect. So, again, Thank you... and with your blessing we will share your spirit and good will this Christmas.
Adding my congratulations ... your posts always make my day!
gorgeous shot! I looove the colors. And congratulations on posting every day. I'm fairly certain there have been entire months where I didn't post once!
